Overview

Face matching refers to the process of comparing two facial images to determine if they represent the same person. Leader in face-recognition, the technology utilized for face matching achieves a significant high score of biometric matching.

How it works

On a high-level, face matching occurs by analyzing the facial features and characteristics of the images when a photo is extracted from an identity document and compared to a selfie provided by the identity owner. This analysis will then result on a score that is communicated through API and in the IDUX Flow platform.

Note: Biometric results such as Face matching should be evaluated in conjunction with other modules results in favor of meeting your company’s individual criteria for identity verification.

Although technology around face matching has significantly advanced, some factors can still challenge the accuracy of results. To its best capability, the platform will communicate whether two facial images represent the same individual. See below how IDUX presents this information:

Should a low score for face matching be returned, the overall result of the verification will instantly be updated to the Consider status. This means the system is flagging a concern regarding this identity owner verification. If other modules could also not be verified, the overall verification will be Unsuccessful.

Verifications flagged as “Consider” are strongly recommended to be thoroughly analyzed before deciding on onboarding an individual as a discretion of the company.
